He also appeared in the pioneering sci-fi BBC TV serial {{wi|The Quatermass Experiment}} in 1953, playing the infected astronaut Victor Carroon.  He died during filming of the ''[[Blake's 7]]'' episode "Hostage"; actor [[John Abineri]] (who also appeared in ''Death to the Daleks'') replaced him.
