It is stated in the article that a confession dial can be used as in the manner decipted in recent Doctor Who episode, to profuce a confession from a subject by means of exposing them to their deep fears, also stating that the subject will be released upon confessing to the matter about which he is interrogated.
While it ia true that it indeed what weve seen in the episodes, I dont think we can assume that the altered/manipulated confession dial would always operate in the same way- for instance, used to elicit a confession by use of fears.
I think that while we can and should use the instance of the dial being used against the doctor ad an example of a dial doing something different than originally intended, we must not put it in a way that seems as if it is how it always it, because we cannot know that for sure, but rather provide as an example of such use. Thank you
