Bone spiders were sentient creatures that fed off dreams. They could force an individual to live out their greatest nightmares, by making them come to life. They would then trap their victims in strong strands of webbing, which could also preserves the victim's form and make them invisible to others. They could also create stone version of other beings, which would collapse upon being touched by a living being. (PROSE: The Stone House)
Bone spiders were sentient creatures, which could make dreams tangible. They could not distinguish between good dreams and nightmares. They could create a thin layer of web around a person that would make them invisible to others without obscuring their own vision. They could also create stone version of other beings, which would collapse upon being touched by a living being. (PROSE: The Stone House)

In 2016, a female spider and her baby fell through a tear in space-time, and ended up in an old stone house. The female then lured a young teenager, Amira to the house where she fed off her by making her re-live the memory of her younger sister Yana choking to death. Amira became trapped in the spider's webbing, which made her invisible to others. She could break out of the webbing if she wished, but any attempts to leave the house and the spiders would created more webbing to trap her. Yana would appear to Amira sometimes, usually in a spectral form as she re-lived past memories.
Many years before 2016, a female bone spider fell through a tear in space-time and ended up in Alice Parsons' house. The spider remained invisible but showed herself to save Alice from falling down the stairs. They became unlikely friends. In 2015, the spider gave birth to a baby. Shortly after that, Alice died. Playing, the baby spider crawled into her coffin and, unseen, was taken with the coffin to her crypt. The mother remained in the house desperate to find her child, trying to send it a message.

Over the years, the spiders changed Yana's form to suit that of what many urban legends statedwhat, which was that the house was haunted by a faceless ghost. Eventually Yana would appear to both Amira and outsiders as a ghost with no face. Amira reached out to Tanya Adeola and she felt drawn to the house too, in the same way that Amira was. Tanya investigated with the rest of the Coal Hill defenders, and the spiders tried to trap her too but were brought to an end resulting in Amira's rescue (PROSE: The Stone House)
A young teenage Syrian refugee Amira sensed these messages and hid in the house from the her smugglers. Without showing herself, the spider did not let Amira out of the house and hid her from prying eyes, providing her with safety for the first time since she fled Syria. Amira occasionally removed the protective webbing, and was once seen in the window by Tanya Adeola. After Tanya decided to investigate, the mother spider trapped her in the house too. After uncovering the truth, the Coal Hill defenders found the baby spider and returned it to the mother. Both spiders remained in the house until such time when it would be possible to return them to their home planet. (PROSE: The Stone House)
