The government used to sponsor him but this stopped with the galactic recession, so he took to smuggling [[vraxoin]]. After the ''[[Empress]]'' crashed into the ''[[Hecate (spaceship)|Hecate]]'', Tryst tried to frame [[Fourth Doctor|the Doctor]] as the smuggler, but was eventually exposed and arrested.
