However, Douglas misplaced a decimal point while specifying the dosage of the [[EC 31]] [[enzyme]], which resulted in a bacterium that could quickly destroy [[plant]]s and even kill a [[human]], just by entering in contact with it.

The lab was on the [[UNIT]] watchlist and [[the Monks]] predicted that within a year, the bacteria created at the lab would wipe out all life on Earth. With the help of [[Nardole]], the [[Twelfth Doctor]] determined the lab to be the location of the world-ending bacteria. Shortly before the lab's automatic venting procedure would release the bacteria into the atmosphere, the Doctor set up an explosion that destroyed half the lab and the bacteria.
