The Time of My Life (comic story): Difference between revisions

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
This is not how the references section gets organised on story pages that I'm aware of. Also, where does "1963" come from? The common usage of humanoid animals is not a reference or continuity to anything.
(The first two pages are clearly the same location and setting.)

* The Doctor and Donna see The Beatles perform "My Bonnie" at The Cavern Club.
** Donna gets one of their records signed, although it is a CD of "1" - which is a compilation that was not released until 1995 - instead of one of their 1963 vinyl records: Please Please Me and With The Beatles.
* Donna asks John Lennon to sign a copy of the 1 album CD for her mum.
** The Cavern Club is the actual club on Mathew Street in Liverpool where the Beatles got their start and were discovered by Brian Epstein. It has been closed twice but was reopened in 1999.
* Donna asks Paul McCartney not to marry Heather.
** Donna takes a risk by telling Paul not to marry Heather - referencing his second wife, Heather Mills, who he married after the death of Linda McCartney after Linda's cancer battle and who was roundly criticised after divorcing him.
* Emergency Program One, spelt Programme in this story, is a recorded message in the TARDIS that leaves instructions to get Donna back home if anything were to happen to the Doctor.
** While in Germany, the Beatles actually recorded a rock version of "My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean", simply called "My Bonnie" - as the Beat Brothers (Record execs thought "Beatles" was too phonetically similar to a German obscenity) - with Tony Sheridan in 1961. It peaked at #5 on West Germany's Hit Parade.
* The humanoid dogs are similar to the other upright animal variations, such as: badger pirates and Catkind.
* The Doctor mentions Emergency Program One. Donna uses a similar device to also record.

* Rather than show a complete adventure, this comic strip shows parts of many of Donna's adventures that lead into each other via what characters say.

* Emergency Program One is spelt Programme in this story, despite British English using the "programme" spelling for television broadcasts and theatre information leaflets, not computer programs.
