It was an elderly and underpowered ship when it was sent to fight the [[Dalek]]s at the Battle of [[Bellatrix]] in [[2547]] or [[2548]]. It was badly damaged during the battle; two of its six crew members died and were absorbed by a [[dimensional rift|transdimensional rift]] that transported it to [[1963]] [[Earth]]. Admiral [[Isaac Summerfield II]], the ''Tisiphone''s commanding officer, took the ship's [[distress call|homing device]] with him as he and the surviving crew members fled to [[England]].
