:It has to do with the way our categories work. They are nested, so we only use the most specific of the nested categories. I'll use [[Dalek]]s as an example. Daleks has [[:Category:Sol System species]], which is in [[:Category:Mutter's Spiral species]], which is in [[:Category:Species by galaxy]], which is in [[:Category:Species by location]], which is in [[:category:species]]. So, when [[Dalek]] is put in [[:Category:Sol System species]], that means it's in those other categories as well, and there is no need to place those other categories on the page.
