While it ia true that it indeed what weve seen in the episodes, I dont think we can assume that the altered/manipulated confession dial would always operate in the same way- for instance, used to elicit a confession by use of fears. | While it ia true that it indeed what weve seen in the episodes, I dont think we can assume that the altered/manipulated confession dial would always operate in the same way- for instance, used to elicit a confession by use of fears.
I think that while we can and should use the instance of the dial being used against the doctor ad an example of a dial doing something different than originally intended, we must not put it in a way that seems as if it is how it always it, because we cannot know that for sure, but rather provide as an example of such use. ==The Doctor's Death==
Can anyone explain to me how this makes sense? Firstly, in "Magician's Apprentice", why excactly was the Doctor expected to die? Secondly, was it just supposed to be the death of the Twelth incaration of the Doctor or the Doctor in general? If it was just meant to be this incarnation, why didn't any previous incarnation recieve a confession dial? And if it was meant to be permanent death of the Doctor, why didn't he recieve the dial in his Eleventh incarnation on Trenzalore where there was much more reason to assume he would die definitifely?
