However, her more long-lasting impact on ''[[Doctor Who]]'' may well have been her [[1983]]-[[1987]] stint as the 13th ''[[Blue Peter]]'' presenter.  She was the host who conducted the introductory interviews with newly-cast [[Doctor]]s, [[Colin Baker]] and [[Sylvester McCoy]].  The latter interview was particularly critical, as ''Blue Peter'' had exclusive rights to announce McCoy's casting in the role.  She was also instrumental in ''Blue Peter''{{'}}s celebration of the 20th anniversary special, ''[[The Five Doctors]]'', and the unusually heavy coverage they gave to ''Doctor Who''{{'}}s return-from-hiatus, ''[[The Trial of a Time Lord]]''.
