Jimmy Stone was an ex-boyfriend of Rose Tyler's.
Jimmy Stone was an ex-boyfriend of Rose Tyler by 2005. When she brought up Jimmy to her current boyfriend, Mickey Smith, Rose seemed to pronounce Jimmy's surname as Stones. (TV: Rose) Accounts varied to Jimmy Stone's fate. (PROSE: Meet Rose, Rose)

When Rose was 16, she dumped Mickey Smith, left school prior to sitting her A levels, and ran away with Jimmy. (TV: Rose, PROSE: Rose, AUDIO: Flight Into Hull!) Jimmy eventually ran off with Rose's computer. When Rose returned, she saw that Mickey had (inadvertently) remained faithful, and got back with him. (PROSE: Rose) As for Jimmy, Rose later said to the Auton version of Mickey Smith, "Look where he ended up." (TV: Rose)

In September 2003, when Rose was sixteen, she met twenty year old Jimmy Stone, the bass guitartist in the band No Hot Ashes, which was local to the Powell Estate. He had a reputation of being the "Fittest Boy" on the estate, and Rose fell "head over heels" in love with him. She dumped her current boyfriend, Mickey Smith, and dropped out of school and her A levels, and moved into a bedsit with Jimmy. Five months later, by February 2004, their relationship broke apart, Rose returned home, heartbroken, and £800 in debt. Meanwhile, Jimmy had travelled to Amsterdam with a woman named Noosh in a camper van. (PROSE: Meet Rose) Jackie prided herself on helping Rose get over the relationship. (AUDIO: Flight Into Hull!)

Jimmy was robbing his current girlfriend, Abena, during the 2005 Auton invasion, when he was killed by the Autons, who chopped him up into little pieces as he left the house. (PROSE: Rose)

Fate
A non-narrative article written by Russell T Davies in the Doctor Who Annual 2006 gave further insight into Stone's character. According to this source, he was a twenty-year-old musician, playing guitar in local band No Hot Ashes. After falling for Jimmy, Rose dumped Mickey, left school, moved out of her home and lived with him in a bedsit. Their relationship ended in tears five months later and Rose was left £800 in debt, while Jimmy was in a camper van to Amsterdam with a woman called Noosh. He later ended up in prison, serving eighteen months, and then started to work as a door-to-door salesman, selling brushes.
Rose later mentioned Jimmy Stones when discussing with Mickey (who was an Auton duplicate), mentioning that it was his fault she didn't do her A levels. She also seemed to know that Stones had ended up in a bad place. (TV: Rose)

According to one account, Jimmy would serve eighteen months in prison, and when he got out, all he could do was sell brushes from door to door. (PROSE: Meet Rose)

Nevertheless, this same article includes obvious contradictions with the television series about Rose's age, so its accuracy is dubious. Furthermore, none of its information has ever surfaced in an actual story in any medium.
According to a second account, Jimmy was robbing his current girlfriend, Abena, during the 2005 Auton invasion, when he was killed by the Autons, who chopped him up into little pieces as he left the house. (PROSE: Rose)

Still, the article offers evidence that Billie Piper pronounced this character's name incorrectly in Rose. She seems to clearly say Stones in the episode, but both the broadcast and series 1 DVD subtitles have consistently maintained Stone's. Since this Annual article was written by RTD, author of Rose, it can be assumed that RTD intended Stone, but for some reason, Piper mistakenly pronounced it as a plural. The novelisation, also written by RTD, confirmed that his surname is Stone.

Information from The Shooting Scripts ought to be added.
Oddly, Billie Piper seemed to mispronounce Jimmy's surname in TV: Rose incorrectly. Piper clearly says Stones in dialogue, however the broadcast and series 1 DVD subtitles have consistently maintained Stone's, and both PROSE: Meet Rose and Rose have shown Jimmy's surname to be Stone. From this, is seems that RTD intended Stone, and the usage of Stones was an accident.
