:''Doctor Who'' being shown as fictional is not a clincher for invalidity, as you say. But that doesn't mean we should pretend that skits that give us no reason, otherwise, to construe them as being set in the DWU, are DWU-stories-with-a-meta-''Doctor-Who''. In this case, the clear gist of the ''Invasion of Earth'' short is that a little boy in the real world is daydreaming about imaginary monsters — it's like Bardley's William Hartnell having a vision of the Eleventh Doctor in ''[[An Adventure in Space and Time (TV story)|An Adventure in Space and Time]]''.
