For this reason, stories such as ''[[Utopia (TV story)|Utopia]]'' are not counted due to the Master's appearance being defined by his importance to following stories, while stories such as ''[[The Paradox Moon (short story)|The Paradox Moon]]'' are absent due to his only contribution being references to past stories. Stories like ''[[Harvest of Time (novel)|Harvest of Time]]'' are also not included due to the Master's appearance being a cameo of little consequence to the plot of the story.</span>
