Dr John, you are thinking along the same 'lines' that I am. I personally think that the Daleks created her, just like they created the professor in "Victory of the Daleks". I think that *12* years didn't actually go by (since they never said what year he first landed in Amy's garden). When the grown 'Amy' said that Amelia Pond had been gone for 6 months, I think she was telling us the 'truth' (hidden right before our eyes!). Amy mentioned to the Professor that she understood what he was going through, really understood. (???) I think that the Daleks saw during Victory of the Daleks how the Doctor would choose to save the Earth before chasing them down (of course) and that they went back in time to plant 'Amy'. Since Karen is slated to come back in the next series, that something similar to what happened with the Professor (to 'make' him human) will happen during the series finale and she will come back 'okay'. Is this making sense to anyone? :-) I've watched, and re-watched (several times) each of the episodes this series and nothing about Amy feels right.
