: I do want to clarify that the self-identification policies is not limited to "deadnames" in the narrow sense — we're not interested in what somebody's legal name is, but 1) what they're credited as and 2) what they go by. Both in terms of accepting any "My name is…" at face value, for any reasons, and even in terms of hiding out-of-date credits as redirects if the person has not only added another ''nom de plum'' to their roster making a genuine effort to bury the older name, even if it's not for gender reasons.
