Janet's longer-lasting impact on ''[[Doctor Who]]'' may well have been her 1983-1987 stint as the 13th ''[[Blue Peter]]'' presenter. She was the host who conducted the introductory interviews with newly-cast [[Doctor]]s [[Colin Baker]] and [[Sylvester McCoy]]. The latter interview was particularly notable, as ''Blue Peter'' had exclusive rights to announce McCoy's casting in the role. She was also instrumental in ''Blue Peter''{{'}}s celebration of the twentieth anniversary special, ''[[The Five Doctors (TV story)|The Five Doctors]]'', and the unusually heavy coverage they gave ''Doctor Who''{{'}}s return-from-hiatus, ''[[Season 23 (Doctor Who 1963)|The Trial of a Time Lord]]''.
