[[Sutekh]] set up a deflection barrier around the Scarman priory to guard it whilst constructing an [[Osiran war missile]]. The reanimated corpse of [[Marcus Scarman]] and the [[Servitor (Pyramids of Mars)|Servitors]] set up four [[generator loop]]s in each compass point in the area. [[Ernie Clements]], who'd been [[Poacher|poaching]] near the priory whilst it was set up, was trapped in the priory's because of the deflection barrier. The [[Fourth Doctor]] eventually disabled the eastern point of the barrier by shutting down its generator loop using [[Third Doctor's sonic screwdriver|his sonic screwdriver]].
