Having an obsession of early [[Time Lord]] history, ([[PROSE]]: {{cs|Arc of Infinity (novelisation)}}) Hedin believed that his people had abandoned [[Omega]]. ([[TV]]: {{cs|Arc of Infinity (TV story)}}) When Omega made contact with him ([[PROSE]]: {{cs|Arc of Infinity (novelisation)}}) and promised to bring power for the good of [[Gallifrey]], Hedin agreed to assist him in returning from the [[anti-matter universe]] and selected the [[Fifth Doctor]] as the body that Omega should bond with.

Hedin shot [[Talor]] with an [[impulse laser]], allowing him to remove the records of Omega's theft of information from [[the Matrix]] where he stole the Doctor's bio-data extract. He also planted evidence that framed Lord President {{Sachs}}, making the rest of the High Council believe he was Omega's ally. When [[Jerricho]] attempted to kill the Doctor to prevent the bond from taking place, Hedin sacrificed his life to save the Doctor, allowing Omega to complete the bonding.
