The Doctor continued to resist the nanites, working to rewrite them to attack Cyber technology instead. As he did this, the Cybermen attempted to force his compliance by parading victims in front of him at a club in Berlin and converting them as he kept refusing. Eventually they captured Benny and he kept up his resistance, letting them put her in a conversion chamber. With a final handshake he combined her nanites with his own, and as he planned they saved her from conversion and attacked the Cybermen. The Doctor then repurposed the hypnotic pulse the Cybermen had used to subdue Berlin to kill all the Cybermen. Solemn at the outcome of these events, he and Benny departed. ==== Finding Dark Gallifrey ====
The Doctor went along with Benny’s desire to find the mythical Dark Gallifrey, feigning reluctance when in truth he wanted her to find it. There they encountered the Imbomination, a sentient paradox, which Benny managed to weaken by spreading its energies across every Doctors’ timeline throughout the Multiverse, much to his frustration. They managed to escape and decided to hide every trace of Dark Gallifrey to prevent anyone else finding it.
Sometime after he and Benny had parted ways, the Doctor returned to Dark Gallifrey to rescue her after she’d been forced to take the War Master and Captain John Hart there, as he and Benny had anticipated someone would eventually use her to do that. She asked the Doctor to take her home, wanting to introduce him to her cats. (AUDUO: The War Master (audio story))
