Arnold Jellicoe was related to [[Wendy Jennings]]. ([[TV]]: {{cs|Robot (TV story)}}) According to another, he was Thinktank's [[Public Relations Officer]] and thus responsible for [[journalist]]s who visited the organisation. ([[PROSE]]: {{cs|Doctor Who and the Giant Robot (novelisation)}}) He was also a member of the [[Scientific Reform Society]] ([[TV]]: {{cs|Robot (TV story)}}) and managed to convince [[Jeremiah Kettlewell]] to join, ([[PROSE]]: {{cs|Doctor Who and the Giant Robot (novelisation)}}) although he only went to one meeting.

Jellicoe assisted Miss Winters in her plans for the SRS to steal nuclear codes from the world powers using [[K1]], the [[prime directive]] of which he was responsible for adjusting despite his lack of proper training. He and Miss Winters gave the visiting [[Sarah Jane Smith]] a tour of Thinktank, during which she intruded in the Robotics section, and he activated K1 to demonstrate that he was harmless when she returned without authorisation. The two of them tried to have K1 kill the [[Fourth Doctor]] and retreated from [[UNIT]] to a bunker, taking [[Harry Sullivan]] as a hostage.

As Miss Winters used the destructor codes, Jellicoe ordered K1 to fight off UNIT with the [[disintegrator gun]] and was knocked out by Harry as he held Kettlewell at [[gun]]point. [[John Benton]] got him and Miss Winters out of the bunker ([[TV]]: {{cs|Robot (TV story)}}) and the pair were [[arrest]]ed. Jellicoe was nervous and fussy. Despite being a hard worker, he got on [[Hilda Winters]]' nerves.
