Famed for its mineral rich rocks and soil, Plutonia 7 was the site of many invasion attempts; however, the aggressive nature of the planet's native life (giant insects such as wasps and praying mantises) put off many possible invaders. In the 43rd century the Daleks, seeing great potential in the strength of these creatures, planned to enslave them and use them to mine metals from the centre of the planet, which they would use to build a fleet of ships to aid the Daleks' future invasion plans. Unfortanutely for the Daleks, they did not realise that the large exoskeletons of these creatures were extremely strong armour, even strong enough to resist Dalek firepower. Aside from wildlife, the planet was also home to giant carnivorous plants which trapped the Daleks in their jaws, crushing their dalekanium casing and devouring the Kaled mutants inside. Although the Daleks' inital force was totally defeated, suffering far more casualties then expected, the possibility of a second, stronger invasion, threatened the extraordinary planet. The Giant Wasps native to this planet may be the same species as the Giant Wasps controlled by the Quarks (TVC: The Killer Wasps), who possibly saw the same potential in them that the Daleks did.
