Colonel Jefferson may be referring to the actual Lt. Col. Jefferson, one of the Tuskegee Airmen. According to the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Jefferson Wikipedia article], he retired in 1969. Doctor Who references historical figures all the time, and I imagine this is intended as an implication that instead of retiring, Jefferson actually took over command of Area 51.

Well, in real life, in 1969, Alexander Jefferson went back into education and became a math an science teacher. The idea that such a person would ever return to secret military duty is [[Brigadier|ridiculously implausible]]. Next you'll be telling us that alien scientists can steal Time Lord regeneration technology or something. :) --[[Special:Contributions/99.33.26.0|99.33.26.0]] 08:05, May 5, 2011 (UTC)
