The whole "forest" thing was referenced a lot in that episode. The Doctor will tell River that the "only water in the forest is the River" during the Doctor's last meeting with her (her first with him) and tell her that. By the time she meets the tenth doctor in the library, her genius brain will have brought it all into place and it all clicks. She will understand she has to die, and it all just works. Also, I apologize, I'm not sure how to post correctly. My post is merging with Jobe's.
