StoryTitle was a novelisation based on the 1965 television serial The Myth Makers.

Novelisation
This marked the first appearances of Vicki and Steven since their final television appearances in 1965 and 1966 respectively. It was also the first novelisation to feature Steven, and indeed the first non-television story to do so.
* This novelisation is based on the original television serial generally referred to as DW: The Myth Makers which included individual episode titles and was shown from 16th October 1965 and written by Donald Cotton.
* The cover and information shown on the right is for the original Target novel and featured the artwork of Andrew Skilleter. (See below for information on other UK and international editions which published with a different cover).

* The book is told entirely from Homer's point of view, meaning many scenes, such as Steven getting wounded by the Trojan soldier, are cut out. Homer also takes on the role of the Greek servant Cyclops.
* The Doctor thinks they have landed in the Kalahari.
