Steffen pretended to be a colonist but secretly had ulterior motives. He thought that Elizabeth Klein was a member of the Geopolice. What he really wanted to do was steal some Vrill nutrients. He did this by using nerve gas to kill the entire Vrill nest. Later, thousands of already laid Vrill eggs hatched, but without their Authority were all neuter warrior Vrill. Steffen was killed by one of these warriors (AUDIO: Survival of the Fittest)
