Sunshine was a form of address. Mishearing the Tenth Doctor, Donna Noble initially believed that he wanted "to mate" and quipped "you're not mating with me, sunshine", forcing the Doctor to reiterate to the disgusted Donna that he wanted "a mate". (TV: Partners in Crime)
