Talk:Battlefield (TV story)

Why isn't the Brigadier marked as a companion for this story? Sir Hat-a-lot 14:04, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

well there's two debates in one here. Is the Brigadier a companion at all, and does a character who was a companion automatically become one every time they appear.
For the former, I would say that he was one (he is listed as uch on the BBC website) - for the latter, I would say not in all cases - and I think this would be one of the cases where it doesn't work, as he acts as a returning star rather than a companion here. But I don't mind either way, so If others agree to add him here, then I'll go with that. Jack's the man - 15:14, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Harry isn't marked as a companion for Android Invasion, for the same good reason.165.225.76.55talk to me 11:38, November 23, 2018 (UTC)

For parts 3-4 I would personally consider The Brig as a companion. Maybe there should be a consensus reached?Gearedspy 23:44, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

Marc Warren[[edit source]]

This page says that Marc Warren appears in this story. Anyone know where he can be seen? 68.191.144.112 09:42, July 7, 2011 (UTC)

Looking at the PASB, he's not listed amongst the extras and walk ons, unless he went by another name. Wikipedia only have IMDB as a reference, and personally I wouldn't trust it.165.225.76.55talk to me 15:40, November 23, 2018 (UTC)

Year[[edit source]]

How do we know the story is set in 1997? --206.177.43.71talk to me 17:55, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

Near as I can tell, the 1997 date comes from the novelization and Mr. Aaronovitch, but like anything else involving UNIT and dates it's hotly debated :-). The most detailed discussion I found is at http://wifeinspace.com/2013/03/battlefield/. Morgan-wolf 18:16, January 20, 2016 (UTC)

Locations are wrongly posted[[edit source]]

Living in this area, whoever had posted the locations on here have created locations which aren't geographically correct, such as Rutland is a separate county not part of Leicestershire and Ketton is part of Rutland, I am therefore going to correct it. AdricLovesNyssa 12:10, May 31, 2013 (UTC)

No, the locations can only be corrected if they differ from the story, not the real world. Please see T:NO RW. Thanks! Shambala108 14:19, May 31, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, my mistake, I didn't realise you were talking about filming locations. (I haven't seen this story yet so I didn't want to look at the article.) Shambala108 14:21, May 31, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah I was talking about the filming locations, I have changed them to what you would find them on a map if you wanted to visit the place, making the page more accurate. AdricLovesNyssa 14:35, May 31, 2013 (UTC)
It's Rutland now, but it was Leicestershire when Battlefield was recorded.165.225.76.55talk to me 15:35, November 23, 2018 (UTC)

Arthurian Legends[[edit source]]

Someone has taken out the previous note I had made on this. Ancelyn is another name for Lancelot. Winifred is another name for Guinevere.165.225.76.55talk to me 10:24, November 26, 2018 (UTC)

I've just seen that someone took it out because they thought it was speculation. It is not speculation. For example, check this Wikipedia article. [1]
