Why would Benedict IX be referred to as a woman, if in the real world it was a man? --DCLM ☎ 15:52, May 22, 2017 (UTC)
- If you're talking about pronouns, Extremis makes it abundantly clear that, in the DWU, they are a woman, from the Doctor's references, explicitly using she/her pronouns to refer to Benedict, to the portrait of her looking very feminine in the entrance to the Haereticum. I don't know what Moffat thought was clever about this, but it would absolutely be real world creep to refer to this person as a man, in any context other than the BTS.
