Talk:Canadian Broadcasting Corporation

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

I saw the original Doctor Who on the CBC back in 1964—or at least a handful of episodes since my mother was very insistent that we play outdoors in the afternoon unless the weather was bad. I saw the very first episode, and maybe one or two more from the first story arc; a couple of episodes from the story about Marco Polo; and a sequence of episodes from a story in which they were trying to find some keys. It was at that point that the CBC abruptly stopped running the show.

If I recall correctly, it was on in the summer. It was certainly being stripped, with five episodes per week, Monday to Friday, in the afternoon. If I recall correctly, I saw most episodes the final week it was on (probably the weather was bad), and they simply stopped it on the Friday. I have the distinct recollection that I did not get to see the final episode of the story about the keys—and whether that was my mother's fault or because the CBC never showed it, I don't know for sure; but I do remember watching the following Monday expecting the end of the story and being upset because I never got to see it.
