Talk:Cardiff Space-Time Rift
rationale for moveedit source
no one on Torchwood calls it anything except "the Rift", so I changed it. obviously not the only time rift in Wholand, of course. --Stardizzy2 23:00, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
- Except the problem is that you didn't change/move it, you copied the information from one page to another, therefore not preserving the page history (which is the only way we can track changes in the page right back through its edits). In future please request an admin to perform a merger of articles (which involves deleting, undeleting and moving the articles in order to combine the page histories). Thanks. --Tangerineduel 11:21, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
I understand the reasoning for the first move. While Cardiff rift identifies it specifically when talking broadly in the Whoniverse, the Rift, with the definite article and a capital R, is how it is referred locally and, to date, perhaps the only way it has been referred. "Space-Time Rift" is odd when identifying a specific time rift and "the Cardiff Space-Time Rift" is just a mass of unneeded syllables. What other Cardiff rifts are there? --Nyktimos 21:29, March 12, 2010 (UTC)
- Moving The Cardiff Space-Time Rift to Cardiff Space-Time Rift in keeping with article naming conventions; no "the" is necessary. Rob T Firefly 01:16, March 16, 2010 (UTC)
Conjectural?edit source
Is it fair to add Conjecture to this page? Or is there a part of the DWU that literally calls it "the Cardiff Space-Time Rift". -- Tybort (talk page) 00:02, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe.
- There's been times when I think it's been stated that there's a "temporal rift" (or something like that) in Cardiff, that there's a "space rift" and something relating to Cardiff.
- But I'm really not sure if anyone's actually says "Cardiff Space-Time Rift" before. It's a little bit of a mouthful that I don't recall in dialogue, maybe it's in a TW book somewhere? --Tangerineduel / talk 13:24, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
Closure?edit source
I'm a bit confused with how the Rift closed exactly. This page says that it closed when Ianto's ghost destroyed a pub that was built on a crack in the Rift, while the Time Field page says that it closed when the Doctor rebooted the universe and closed the cracks in time. Could someone please explain which one it is that canonically closed the Rift? TroopDude ☎ 11:04, August 10, 2012 (UTC)
