Merge[[edit source]]

Sorry but shouldn't this page be merged with Clara? She's clearly meant to be the younger version of the modern-day Clara (indicating that the prequel takes place sometime in the 1990s). So unless this wiki is suggesting there's a fourth version of Clara out there, I think we should go ahead and merge the two articles. Slughorn42 22:05, March 23, 2013 (UTC)

Well, unfortunately this wiki is quite against interpreting the intentions of the writers/directors. I don't like it any more than you, but I think this page will have to remain separate until we have on-screen evidence they're the same. Thomsons Gazelle 11:19, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

The official BBC website biography for Clara Oswald[1] clearly states:

Fact! The Doctor met Clara when she was much younger in this prequel…

and links to the prequel. So the young girl is the same person as the new companion Angelus Lupus 21:56, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

We really don't go by websites for in-universe information here. I think it would be best to wait for narrative proof that they're one and the same.

And if it never comes? A judgement has been made that they're seperate characters. On one hand we have a statement that they're the same. On the other, there's a supposition that they aren't. Wouldn't the less speculative route be to go with the statement? Considering that there isn't much info from the prequel itself, it would be easy to remove if they somehow turn out to be different.--Hawki 09:29, March 31, 2013 (UTC)
Seriously? The official bio on the official website can't be used for disambiguation? Angelus Lupus 11:50, March 31, 2013 (UTC)
In my experience, websites are only cited on a wiki if they are a known reliable source. And I'm fairly certain BBC, which owns Doctor Who, can be considered reliable. Generally, assumptions themselves are ignored, so saying that they're two separate characters when there's a statement by BBC itself that they are the same is not exactly helpful.--TenCents (talk to me!) 17:11, March 31, 2013 (UTC)
