I think the page should be called Cybermen (Warrior Class) The preceding unsigned comment was added by The Lone Cyberdog (talk • contribs) .

Most page names are singular, so sorry, no, we won't be changing to your choice. Shambala108 01:41, February 27, 2020 (UTC)
And even so pages aren't named that way. --DCLM 05:54, February 27, 2020 (UTC)

Supremacy of the Cybermen info[[edit source]]

I've thought this over for a while now, and I thought raising it in a discussion post would be helpful. Although (I'm pretty sure) I was the person who added info on this page regarding the Cybermen of the Cyber-Earth from Supremacy of the Cybermen, now I'm not sure if said info should actually be here.

This is because the only instance within Supremacy of the Cybermen, where the Cybermen of the Cyber-Earth are referred to as "Cyber-Warriors", is a quote from Captain Jack Harkness. To Jackie Tyler, he says:

Ma'am —- the Cybermen are a race of cyborgs from the long-dead planet of Mondas. Big on organ-replacement, not so hot on free will. They've colonised your planet and are currently converting the entire human race into Cyber-Warriors!Jack Harkness

The problem is, the exact context of Jack's use of the term "Cyber-Warriors" is difficult to understand - or at least I'm finding. The way he says it could easily be interpreted as him using the term "Cyber-Warrior" in a purely descriptive manner, rather than to identify an explicit type of Cyberman. This is compounded by the Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler referring to the Cyber-Earth Cybermen throughout Supremacy as just "Cybermen".

However, on the other hand, the Cybermen of the Cyber-Earth, for all that they aren't seen much, have a design that could easily be interpreted as warrior-like; highly muscular bodies, with pronounced shoulders, chests, arms and legs. They carry huge rifle-like laser cannons, and Rose's Cyber-form, which isn't specifically identified as being a separate rank from the other Cyber-Earth Cybermen, has the body of a Cybus Cyberman with a huge pyro cannon for a right arm. Altogether, these designs strongly evoke a "Cyber-Warrior" impression, so Jack referring to these Cybermen as "Cyber-Warriors" may not actually be in a purely descriptive context.

I'm not sure if The Bidding War and The Lost Dimension have any impact on this discussion, as although I'm aware that they involve Rose's experiences of Supremacy's alternate timeline, I haven't actually read these stories in full.

I thought some second opinions on this matter may be of help. Thalek Prime Overseer 20:05, 11 September 2021 (UTC)

Some other points I forgot to add:
1) The quote in the quote box (from Jack Harkness) is formatted entirely in capital letters within Supremacy of the Cybermen itself, as are all the character dialogue and words within Supremacy. This therefore raises questions as to how exactly the word "Cyber-Warriors" is formatted within Supremacy. For example, the "W" in "Warriors" could be lowercase, therefore meaning that "Cyber-Warriors" may actually have been formatted as "Cyber-warriors".
2) By extension, the word "replacement" is hyphenated due to its length, as "replacement" doesn't normally have a hyphen in it, while at the same time, the word "organ", which is positioned right next to "replacement", has a hyphen at the end of it (as in, "organ-replacement"), a feature that would be used even if the word wouldn't need shortening to fit inside a character's speech bubble. Therefore, we can't automatically be sure that Jack's use of the term "Cyber-Warriors" by default has a hyphen in it, or if a hyphen's only in place to fit the term inside its speech bubble.
I know that a grammatical hyper-analysis may seem like borderline insanity to some people, but in this case, assuming that Jack is using the term "Cyber-Warriors" to refer to an actual variant of Cyberman, any spellings that differ from "Cyber-Warriors", along with how the Cyber-Earth Cybermen are completely separate from the Cyber-Warriors of Ascension of the Cybermen / The Timeless Children, an entirely new page for the Supremacy Cyber-Warriors could validly be made. Okay, so according to the "Talk" icon on this page, there are 6 comments on this talk page, but I’m only seeing 5. Did somebody respond to my comments and it’s just not showing up for some reason? Either way, we really do need to discuss the Supremacy of the Cybermen info on this page and how accurate it really is.Thalek Prime Overseer 13:14, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
It's a weird bug where where the number of "comments" is actually the number of edits. 13:46, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
