Sort of occurred to me (I only saw a Christmas story for the first time recently, and I kind of hated it.) but it seems that Ralphie and Cyril share a lot of characteristics. I can't help but wonder if Cyril (in a Christmas special episode) is not in some way a reference to Ralphie- Especially given that a "Christmas Story" was supposed to have taken place in 1940 and the Dr. Who episode was meant to be just after WWII started for England, so within a few years.
