Talk:Death sentence

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Title[[edit source]]

As the most common term for this topic, should this be retitled as "execution"? I can't see any reason why "death sentence" should be favoured, so if there is one, please make it known.--Skittles the hog - talk 14:20, August 23, 2011 (UTC)

How about "capital punishment"? Ausir(talk) <staff/> 14:34, August 23, 2011 (UTC)

For what reason would should it be "capital punishment"? Though it is the most common description in the real world, that's not the case in the DWU.--Skittles the hog - talk 14:43, August 23, 2011 (UTC)

What do the in-universe sources say?
Reading the article execution does seem to have been used more often than other terms, but is it a less accurate term than "death sentence"? --Tangerineduel / talk 14:50, August 23, 2011 (UTC)

Well, I think death sentence refers more to the process (inc. death warrant, trial etc.), whereas execution is the action. Not sure how accurate that is though.--Skittles the hog - talk 14:59, August 23, 2011 (UTC)

Arc of Infinity does refer to "capital punishment" and there are many stories (e.g The Sun Makers) that call it execution. Either of these is a better title.--Skittles the hog - talk 13:15, September 18, 2011 (UTC)
