Talk:Deathworm Morphant

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Rename[[edit source]]

I suggest that this page be renamed to Morphant, as the alien species was called a Morphant in three different sources, and was called a Deathworm in only one source; and also because two of the three sources that gave the species' name as Morphant were the official script and documentations for the 1996 Doctor Who film. Mastermind calls it simply "deathworm morphant". JagoAndLitefoot 19:33, July 24, 2013 (UTC)
I've moved the page for you. Please keep an eye out for any red links created from the old page name and change them. Thanks. --Revan\Talk 19:38, July 24, 2013 (UTC)

Origins[[edit source]]

The current paragraph reads:

"One account stated that Deathworms were created by the Morgs. (PROSE: The Eight Doctors) However, another account noted that they were created on the planet Skaro. (COMIC: The Fallen)"

One source states where they were created and the other by whom. They don't necessarily contradict. We know nothing about the Morgs. They could exist on Skaro, or could have at some point. In fact, these two facts imply that they do.

"The Deathworms were created by the Morgs (PROSE: The Eight Doctors) on the planet Skaro. (COMIC: The Fallen)", anyone? 70.53.31.95talk to me 05:49, December 16, 2013 (UTC)

Actually, The Eight Doctors gives us enough specifics to know that the Morgs aren't on Skaro.
He [the Master] was sitting by a dying camp-fire on a distant desert planet on the remote fringes of Mutters Spiral. This planet was inhabited by a handful of ferocious lifeforms and an equally ferocious humanoid species, the Morgs." (emphasis added to show what doesn't match known descriptions of Skaro)
There's more to it than that — the Morgs are described physically in a way that doesn't match any known inhabitant of Skaro, and any point in Skaro's history — but these two sentences are more than enough to disqualify your proposed wording. The current paragraph is much more accurate. Eight and Fallen are at significant variance with each other, and this article needs to be very clear on that point.
