The year is not given. As for the date, it happens on the day (and night) before the Krampus run, which itself is on the eve of St Nicholas's Feast. Better Watch Out, which is also set in Salzburg, clearly puts the feast on the 6 December, meaning that this story happens on the 4 December (and a couple of minutes after the midnight.
