Splitting incarnations

Now that the Rani and the Monk have been split into their respective pages, I think we could also do with splitting the pages for Drax. Not only does The Trouble with Drax give us clear names for each incarnation from 3-13, but also their first and second incarnations are known and distinctive enough:

• First Drax
• Second Drax (the one that appears in The Armageddon Factor)
• Third Drax, Fifth Drax, Eighth Drax, Ninth Drax and Twelfth Drax appear with large roles in The Trouble with Drax, also have voice actors.
• The Fourth, Sixth, Seventh, Tenth, Eleventh and Thirteenth are only mentioned in the audio, but there's still at least one sentence to be said about each of them.

Also, due to the inherently multi-Drax nature of The Trouble with Drax, our coverage of the story would benefit of having separate pages for each of them. NoNotTheMemes ☎ 14:51, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

Splitting the pages of the Rani and Monk have done wonders for their accessibility, so I'm in agreement with this one too. RadMatter ☎ 15:34, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

Definitely seems like a good idea! Just one point on article naming: are the names "Third Drax" etc. used in The Trouble in Drax? If they are, then obviously that's the naming system to go with. But if not I think Drax I, Drax II, etc. would be the better options to default to, mimicking the naming of Romana's incarnations. Drax, after all, is a proper name (like Romana), not a title like the Doctor, Monk and Rani. Danochy ☎ 01:14, 19 June 2021 (UTC)

Not explicitly. There's three moments where I recall them using numbers: towards the beginning, where "3rd Drax III" refers to himself as having regenerated since he last saw the Doctor and Romana, and now being "face number three", when most Draxes are revealed, they say their numbers out loud (so "3", "5", "9" and "12"), and right at the end, when they're escaping in their TARDIS, one of them says "told you the gender switch would be worth it, eight".

However, if I say so myself, I prefer having ordinal numbers rather than roman ones. For one, distinguishing betweeen "Fourth", "Sixth" and "Seventh" is far easier than between "IV", "VI" and "VII" (also, making a typo between "VI", "VII" and "VIII" and the likes of it are far more likely than with ordinal numbers).

Far as I know, we started using Romana I and Romana II specifically because a reference material had it like it, otherwise I suspect we might have gone with "First Romana" and so on (suspect the same for K9). I would like to show my support for the splitting of this page. While I don't believe it follows current policy, I think First, Second, Third, etc. works better. Potentially, policy could be changed to make that the default and only use Roman Numerals if a source explicitly gives it that way. Bongo50 (aka Bongolium500) ☎ 06:57, 26 June 2021 (UTC)

Alright! The proposal itself seems like a no-brainer, and it seems we've reached a consensus on the names to be used — First Drax onwards rather than Drax I onwards (although I do think the latter should be created as redirects until a more stable policy emerges). Seeing no reason not to proceed, and with ten days having been awarded for further discussion to take place, I hereby officially, administratively authorise the splitting of the Drax page.
