Talk:Fleeting Faces (short story)

How to deal with this[[edit source]]
Treating this a story with three stories within is rather unorthodox, especially when we (red)link to Destination: Skaro (novelisation) on this page, which is original to this anthology. I think we should either stop considering this a story page (i.e. remove the dab term and turn it into a hub page) or merge this into Fifteen Doctors 15 Stories (anthology) (my preference). - Just a correction, Destination: Skaro isn't unique to this anthology, but the point still stands. Nested short stories isn't a useful or accurate way of formatting this. Danochy ☎ 10:32, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- I would (obviously as the creator of the page) consider this page necessary.
- Firstly, it's taken three releases and combined them into one (two of the three are already the same overall narrative anyway), so you're meant to read them all as one — hence the unique title. It was also marketed as single story.
- Secondly, this page is important for navigational purposes. If you are going through the navigational fields in an infobox, or clicking the links in a navfobox, or goung through the categories, this page sorta needs to be there so readers won't be confused why a page is missing.
- This page, however, was improvised as we don't really have any comparable media where multiple separate stories are combined as one under a new title — I tried to be bold. I am happy to discuss ways to improve the coverage of this story, but I do maintain it should have its own page. 12:26, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- Let me pose this question to you then. If none of these stories had been released prior to this, would you be advocating they be covered on a single page or as separate stories? Because they are very clearly separate stories. I'm ok with having a separate page, I just don't think it should be treated as a source. Especially as, unless I'm mistaken, it provides no new information that wasn't in the three prior releases. We never cover reprints on new source pages. Danochy ☎ 01:06, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
