Tom Baker was not the longest serving actor to play The Doctor. He played The Doctor from 1974 to 1981, ie seven years. Sylvester McCoy played The Doctor from 1987 to 1996, which, if my calculations are correct, is nine years, two years more than Tom's portrayal length of Four. I rest my case. - That's a bit of a ridiculous argument. Take Colin and Tom Baker. They just released two stories starring them, The Wrong Doctors and The Auntie Matter. In the light of recent episodes, you could now say that McGann was the was the Longest Serving Doctor from Regeneration to Regeneration, by 17 years: 1996 to 2013. MrSiriusBlack ☎ 11:10, March 2, 2014 (UTC)
