Talk:Seventh Galaxy
Merge?edit source
Should this page be merged with Galaxy Seven? Since the source for this page is an audio, there's no definite spelling, i.e. Galaxy 7 vs. Seven. I understand the Seventh Galaxy is something else, but as far as this goes, can we assume Galaxy Seven and Galaxy 7 are the same? Steed ☎ 01:58, October 1, 2015 (UTC)
- No, we can't assume anything. The two galaxies are from two different stories, and we can only merge them if a story somewhere in the DWU confirms they are the same. It's a big multiverse; it's within the bounds of possibility that two different galaxies have the same name. Shambala108 ☎ 02:07, October 1, 2015 (UTC)
- This page's only source is Benny's Story, written by Lance Parkin, who later in The Eyeless confirmed that Galaxy 7 = Galaxy Seven = Seventh Galaxy. It's the same place, and its information is already present on the other page. Seems like a clear-cut merge. – n8 (☎) 15:08, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
Renameedit source
Not sure what the precedent here is. Mutter's Spiral keeps its DWU name, as do the Magellanic Clouds, but it seems odd to have 'Seventh Galaxy' in the category 'Galaxies from the Real World'. Eyeless specifically calls it Sculptor Dwarf though and gives its IRL distance as its DWU distance so it can't not be included. Thien Valdram ☎ 15:13, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
- We could include the category on this page as which would mean it shows up on that Category page as "Sculptor Dwarf Galaxy" and when you click it goes to Seventh Galaxy. WarDocFan12 ☎ 14:29, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure that'd just sort it as though it was called that, this name would still show up. Cookieboy 2005 ☎ 15:58, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah I think I can probably agree with that, just wasn't sure about the precedent. Mutter's Spiral is in 'real world galaxies' though so. Thien Valdram ☎ 05:46, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
