Talk:Gallifreyan symbols
Sarah Jane's attic clock and Torchwood's decalled window[[edit source]]
The page Gallifreyan (language) has, I think, several fan perspectives which are not supported by the official sources. Among them, there is a claim that Gallifreyan symbols are present in the main sets of Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. This reddit post offers, I think, a convincing debunking of the Torchwood idea. I found an image of the clock here, and I know that somewhere on the internet there's information on what model of clock this was; I believe that the marking are part of the ordinary decoration of the clock and represent planetary objects. As Gallifreyan symbols (Rose)/Gallery demonstrates, they do not resemble the Gallifreyan which was used by the art department at that time (although, it could be said that the two angled lines are reminiscent). For now, I have not included either example on this page. TheChampionOfTime ☎ 01:02, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- Grumble grumble there's no in-universe difference between the movements of planetary objects and Circular Gallifreyan because the laws of astrophysics were quite literally written in the language of the Gods that's the point grumble grumble. But quite right, of course. We can't start including every image of the solar system as an appearance of the Houses' language, even if it's true from a certain point of view. --Scrooge MacDuck ☎ 01:38, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
