Canonicity[[edit source]]

So will this fit with continuity or...? 67.186.46.139 22:37, September 12, 2009 (UTC)

To be honest, from what I've seen, this is probably just as canon as all those 90s stories that only featured one element and nothing else...IE, not at all. --Golden Monkey 22:14, January 2, 2010 (UTC)
It's probably just as canon as "Death comes to time."--TehDash 18:05, June 25, 2010 (UTC)
The above conversation does not represent wiki policy. K9 is regarded as "something that counts" to us at this wiki. It is, admittedly, similar to the BBV productions to which Golden Monkey alludes, but we "count" those here. Our basic rule of thumb is that a story is "canon" if it involves the legal use of the copyright holder of the character(s) involved. K9 is made in conjunction with Bob Baker and the estate of Dave Martin, so it "counts".

Regeneration - Pilot?[[edit source]]

Was Regeneration commissioned as a Pilot? No where in the article does it state it's a pilot. Also Australian and British shows often go straight to series rather than the pilot - series format. I can't find any reference to Regeneration being a pilot on our articles or Wikipedia's (there is mention of a pilot, though this refers to earlier in the development sequence). --Tangerineduel 12:25, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

Dont think it was a pilot, it was just a special or a taster like Invasion of the Bane was for Sarah Jane. Revanvolatrelundar 13:22, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

  • There's a tendency to refer to first episodes as pilots, regardless of whether they were commissioned as such or not. An Unearthly Child wasn't a pilot either because 13 episodes had been commissioned regardless what happened. I've seen Invasion of the Bane called a pilot, too. I suppose had it scored a zero rating in the UK, it might not have been picked up for the rest of the series later... 68.146.64.9 15:27, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

Fall 2010 UK airdates[[edit source]]

Just a heads up the airdates on the individual episode articles are all over the map, as someone is either speculating or has some information regarding when the Five broadcasts are happening and on a few articles such as The Last Precinct has put THOSE dates down as the first UK broadcasts, when in fact the correct dates should be whenever Disney XD aired them (except for the first episode). So the individual episode articles need to be policed. Has Five actually announced when they're showing the thing anyway? 68.146.64.9 15:27, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

Dubious content[[edit source]]

The final note in Broadcasts section includes a long paragraph about things the franchise will apparently do in the future, culminating with:

As far as anyone can tell, K9 is doing remarkably well and will fast become an international hit, a second series already being planned for next year. Fan conventions and other such gatherings are already coming to host the cybernetic wonder and it seems that the show won't be getting the axe anytime soon.

This entire section is a) Non-factual, being about what the brand will do in the unknowable future. b) clearly generated by a public relations department. (Seriously, 'cybernetic wonder?')

Move we dump the entire offending section and ban User:121.218.203.13 (diff) from future editing. -184.100.90.245 07:54, September 17, 2011 (UTC)

3 years after the fact, I'd like to comment that I hope 121 wasn't banned as result of posting this. We don't know that the IP was a "public relations" drone, and not everyone is aware that certain wording, the posting of assumptions, etc. is not allowed. Hopefully 121 just got a warning and that was that. 68.146.52.234talk to me 19:27, June 11, 2014 (UTC)

Waters of mars[[edit source]]

It says that some of the events described in the waters of mars may have happened before or during the first series, is this refrencing the oil apocolypse and other events described by adelaide, or the episode itself, because that was in 2059.

Update needed[[edit source]]

This article needs a major update as the most recent reference to the status of the show is now two years old. It's now mid-2014 and there's been no indication of a second season entering full production anytime soon. I think it's probably time to categorize this the same way Torchwood is: the show isn't cancelled but it isn't imminently returning, either (unless of course there's a source that says the contrary!) 68.146.52.234talk to me 19:29, June 11, 2014 (UTC)

Connection to the Whoniverse[[edit source]]

Is this connected to the doctor who universe or not. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cyberdalek12 (talk • contribs) .

Please sign your comments with the four tildes, also question HAS already been answered years and years ago. Look at the above sections. --DCLM 13:04, February 10, 2020 (UTC)
