Talk:Kithriarch

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Possible connection to BBC Wales series[[edit source]]

Since the revival the Doctor has refered to having a father which would seem to contradict the looms. But what if when the Doctor referred to his father he really meant the Kithriarch of his house, Quences? One reason I think this is that the Kithriarch and the Housekeeper seem to have similar roles to the sterytypical father and mother from 1950s or so. He could just use the term father because he knew it was something Humans understand. Another idea is what if the Doctor doesn't actully speak english, then the TARDIS would translate what he says into english for the companions and viewers and maybe that would translate best as father. Remember he does read High Gallifreyan so is there really any reason to think there isn't a spoken form. Just a couple of ideas and I will admit there might be stuff I missed that already disproves this.

I've always thought along these lines, too. Likewise, references to the Doctor's brother / family in other media could be referring to one or more of the Lungbarrow cousins also. Personally I think it's great fun to imagine that the Eighth Doctor is referring to Lungbarrow's Quences, when he recalls lying on the grass with his father watching the stars. 203.97.94.126talk to me 04:31, March 26, 2012 (UTC)
