Talk:List of K9 television stories

Rename[[edit source]]

This page might be better named if it's just "List of K9 television stories". --DCLM 17:00, July 23, 2019 (UTC)

Isn't that basically a part of K9 - list of appearances in a different formatting? At least before it was an overview of a TV series, much like List of The Sarah Jane Adventures television stories and List of Class television stories. OncomingStorm12th 17:03, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
Why would it be different from the other "lists of television stories"? The list of appearances span all appearances in all forms of media. The "television stories" lists only cover the TV appearances. --DCLM 17:06, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
Much the same reason List of The Sarah Jane Adventures television stories is a list of episodes from The Sarah Jane Adventures, not all televised appearances from Sarah Jane Smith. Or why List of Torchwood television stories is a list of episodes from Torchwood (TV series), not all televised appearances of the Torchwood Institute. OncomingStorm12th 17:14, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
That was not what I was getting at. I meant why the dab-term in the middle? It seems highly uncommon. --DCLM 17:21, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
This article is about episodes of K9. I'm a bit confused why K9 and Company has now been included for seemingly no reason. --Borisashton 19:01, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
I could have it removed if we don't need a list for television stories of this show, given that there's only one (but given that there's only one it having it here instead of creating an entirely new article for it could be good; a collective page for both shows). But could we keep to the topic of why there's a dab-term in the middle of the article name. That was the sole purpose of my renaming request. --DCLM 19:19, July 23, 2019 (UTC)
The addition of K9 and Company quite threw me off in the discussion, honestly, reason why I thought the proposal was to have all K9 tv stories in the page. Now that I get what the rename was about, I can only guess, but I think that "(TV series)" is there to prevent exactly what I though your proposal was: someone adding, say The Invisible Enemy or School Reunion. Without the dab term, both of these stories could be added to the page - they are K9 television stories. What they are not, and what the page aims to cover, are K9 stories.
And for K9 and Company being on the page - I don't see why it should. K9 (TV series) is a 2009 spin-off. K9 and Company is no way a "pilot" episode of K9 or related to it in any capacity, so I think it really doesn't belong on this list any more than Tooth and Claw would belong on List of Torchwood television stories.
