Story notes[[edit source]]

In the story notes, there is a notation (and a picture) about the first time a person is seen defecating in a Doctor Who story. Isn't it more likely that Donna stretches her back and neck after hideing in the toilet cubicle all day? I am rufus 08:39, September 29, 2009 (UTC)

It was vandalism, Ive removed it Bigshowbower 10:14, September 29, 2009 (UTC)

Necklace[[edit source]]

How come the "Adipose Pendant" didn't biotune itself to Donna? Could it be residual Arton Energy? Microscopic Huon Particles that can't be picked up by sonic? Or could it be because she hadn't taken a pill? It just seems irresponsible considering it's possible that someone could just twist a pendant without even touching the pill and it would induce birth in the nearest "surrogate". Rose Tyler's cameo[[edit source]]

When does rose make a cameo?

At the very end. Donna asks her to tell her mom where the keys to her car are. 208.71.235.4talk to me 01:50, January 12, 2015 (UTC)

Visual gaffe[[edit source]]

Look closely. When Miss Foster is questioning the journalist she captured (the famous scene where the Doctor and Donna first see each other and silently mouth a conversation together), if you look closely in several shots the soldiers (played by extras) are replaced with mannequins holding guns. 208.71.235.4talk to me 01:50, January 12, 2015 (UTC)

This episode takes place in 2008[[edit source]]

Why does this page say that this episode takes place in London in the year 2009? Donna says in The Fires of Pompeii that this episode is set in the year 2008. She comes from the present day so there is no chance she would have got that wrong. Scoobydooman90001 16:13, May 10, 2017 (UTC)

  • "Rose" is set in March 2005 (Rose's missing poster says she disappeared 6 March 2005). Rose disappears with the Doctor for a year before returning in "Aliens of London" (so March 2006). A Christmas after that, Christmas 2006 or later, is shown in "The Christmas Invasion", when the Sycorax attack. The next Christmas is shown in "The Runaway Bride", when the Racnoss attacks, and Donna meets the Doctor. So that's Christmas 2007 at earliest. Finally, "Voyage of the Damned" is yet another Christmas, so Christmas 2008. Wilf mentions in that episode that the last two Christmases were the events of "Invasion" and "Bride". Wilf recognizes the Doctor from their brief encounter in "Voyage" in this episode ("Partners").--Trebligoniqua 22:08, April 16, 2018 (UTC)

Removed paragraph from lead[[edit source]]

Similar to Rose and Martha, Donna was living her life when the Doctor ran into her. However, unlike them, she was actually trying to find the Doctor. Unlike the two of them, Donna instead built a strong friendship with the Doctor instead of falling in love with him.

Many problems and much confusion here. "Living her life" is incredibly vague to the point of meaningless. The second sentence is directly contradicted by the first, especially considering her investigation of Adipose Industries is specifically to find the Doctor. Not to mention that Donna first ran into the Doctor at the end of Doomsday when she was teleported inside the TARDIS, not in Partners in Crime. As well as this, what does the character of Donna as a whole (who neither debuts nor first features prominently in this episode) have to do with the production and narrative information about Partners in Crime? -- Tybort (talk page) 17:35, October 1, 2017 (UTC)

This episode is set in 2009[[edit source]]

The logic behind it is mentioned in my response to the similar topic above about being set in 2008.--Trebligoniqua 02:22, April 17, 2018 (UTC)

The fact that Donna literally says that it happened in the year 2008 proves that you are wrong. I know that the whole 'taking a place a year later' makes more logical sense, but you can't really deny what Donna herself says on screen. Scoobydooman90001 22:15, June 29, 2018 (UTC)
So what does Donna say? Please provide the exact quote. Amorkuz 06:28, June 30, 2018 (UTC)
This is the full context of the 2008 quote:

DONNA: But if it's aliens setting off the volcano, doesn't that make it all right for you to stop it?

DOCTOR: Still part of history.

DONNA: But I'm history to you. You saved me in 2008. You saved us all. Why is that different?

DOCTOR: Some things are fixed, some things are in flux. The Doctor and Donna discuss fixed points in time [The Fires of Pompeii (TV story) [src]]

This is ambiguous at best. The Doctor has met the Doctor has had two adventures with Donna. This, and The Runaway Bride. This episode refers to that she has researched alien occurrences and thought that the Doctor was connected. What's to say that she was attributing any of the events listed on the 2008 to the Doctor and exaggerating her involvement?
The way I see it is its just another continuity error caused by the year out thing. This makes more sense than this episode taking place in the last week of December 2008. --Borisashton 10:29, June 30, 2018 (UTC)
I suppose so, but that's still vague at best. As you say, she only assumed that the Doctor was connected to the prior alien incursions and therefore wouldn't have known for sure if he did have any involvement with them. Even then, the only events involving aliens in 2008 were the Judoon taking the Royal Hope hospital, the Master and the Toclafane invading the Earth (which was wiped from the timeline, save for the one Toclafane that had shot down the President) and the Titanic nearly hitting Buckingham Palace. I'd imagine this is the one she would most likely be referring to, but then again, she also says in Partners in Crime that she believes the Titanic was a hoax. Clearly a continuity error, but a very confusing one nonetheless.

(Also I apologise for coming across as brash in my edit summary for my previous 2008 edit on the Partners in Crime page, I can get easily irritated though I don't have any ill intentions). Scoobydooman90001 12:30, June 30, 2018 (UTC)
