Talk:Pete Tyler
From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Peter Tyler or Pete Tyler[[edit source]]
He is mostly known as Pete Tyler, so perhaps we should move this page to Pete Tyler instead of Peter Tyler. Cortion 11:50, July 2, 2011 (UTC)
- Agreed. IIRC we go for most commonly used name, irrespective of what might be their actual full name.
- Though Rose refers his full name in the narration Father's Day, Jackie says within the episode "Oh, Pete. You never used to like them mental.". It's the only direct addressing of him by his name. (Excluding the wedding vows, and I would exempt them on the fact that Jackie gives her full name for that as well, so it's not truly indicative of how he would've been known.)
- The Tenth Doctor refers to this Pete (from Rose's perspective, the original) in Rise of the Cybermen as Pete. And Rose says at the party, "There's no Rose Tyler. I was never born. There's Pete, my dad, and Jackie..." Finally, the patio exchange between Rose and Jackie has Jackie say "Pete always says, you know. Ah, never mind him."
- I would say that's a strong case to warrant a change here. JDPManjoume ☎ 00:36, September 4, 2020 (UTC)
Timeline 2 and 3[[edit source]]
I'm a little confused about something: why is everything that occurs after Pete dies with Rose by his side listed as "timeline 3", and the actual event of Pete's death/Rose being with him is shown at the end of "timeline 2"? Shouldn't his altered death be at the beginning of "timeline 3"? (I hope this wording all made sense) TheFatPanda ☎ 00:20, December 15, 2017 (UTC)
