Non speaking[[edit source]]

I know it's a touchy subject but speaking sign language is still non speaking, most non speaking actors gest and point, it's a form of communication but not through speech aka speak. I believe for her not to be included, the category name should be reconsidered. - Denchen: Lord of Invalidness 21:21, December 1, 2016 (UTC)

Well she is speaking a language; it's not just gesturing. For a few seconds I did accept that she might be a non-speaking actor, but that just didn't sit well with me. It almost seems a bit demeaning, when she clearly has a lot of lines and she's a really central character in two episodes. We just have to have her words translated for us (unless we already understand BSL, of course). But I am certainly open to having the category re-added if that ends up being the consensus here.

I agree with SOTO. Non-speaking is understood to mean "no lines". This actress has lines, and delivers them in another language. If necessary, we can specify the distinction on the two category pages. Shambala108 21:30, December 1, 2016 (UTC)
