I think the implication of the story is that the Doctor had forced Strax to be a nurse rather than the Sontaran military.

- i dont really like wahty that implies

Can we add that perhaps strax was rather resigned to his position based on his last words?

I interpreted that a little differently - Rory was trying to convince him that he'd pull through and Strax's reply also suggested that, as a nurse, he knew Rory was lying to him. 109.156.201.108talk to me 21:10, November 16, 2012 (UTC)

Series 7[[edit source]]

It has been confirmed that strax is in series 7, it should be noted here, it is currently unknown if he somehow survived demon's run, or if this will portray an earlier meeting with the doctor from his point of view.

The Great Detective (TV story)[[edit source]]

Should we make separate pages for the Straux's of A Good Man Goes to War (TV story) and The Great Detective (TV story), sense they are obviously separate clones? OS25 (talk to me, baby.) 21:39, November 16, 2012 (UTC)

Are we sure of that? I actually assume that (at least for Strax, if not also for Vastra and Jenny) this takes place before AGMGTW. 78.8.240.65talk to me 22:18, November 16, 2012 (UTC)
Speculation. It's most likely that this new Strax is an unrelated clone, as GMG2W Strax said he had many clones. Besides, Strax lived in the future. OS25 (talk to me, baby.) 22:24, November 16, 2012 (UTC)
It's a time travel show, we don't know if he only lived in the future. And him being a clone is just as much speculation. Let's just wait for Snowmen, which will likely explain it. Sontaran clones we've seen usually tend to have different names. 78.8.240.65talk to me 22:29, November 16, 2012 (UTC)
Agreed, In Good Man it is stated that Strax owes the Doctor a debt. Knowing Moffat they are most likely referring to what will happen in The Snowmwen. Wibbly Wobbly, remember! Geek Mythology 22:36, November 16, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, that's great. Let's just wait until Christmas. No, we need to decide how to deal with this until now. They are definetly diffrent clones. That's what AGMGTW and TGD suggest together. OS25 (talk to me, baby.) 22:38, November 16, 2012 (UTC)
We do not need to decide now either way. It is best to wait until the full episode. As "Great Detective" shows Strax in a subservient role, personally I would consider him to be the same, but I have changed the page to note the uncertainty. Geek Mythology 22:54, November 16, 2012 (UTC)
The page is staying as it is. Full stop. It will contain information for Good Man and Detective unless a future episode states that they are clones. Until then it is just speculation. Any attempt to rename the page will result in the page locked from moving. MM/Want to talk? 23:16, November 16, 2012 (UTC)
That's fine, and probably really the best choice, but I'm moving it to below the original narrative. The fact isn't that calling him a clone is speculatory, it's that deciding if he is a clone or not is. May I remind you that in A Good Man Goes to War (TV story) Strax says he has many clones all over the universe. The Doctor replies with something like "Straxs. All over the universe." So basically both that he is from before AGMGTW and the fact that he is a clone are likely. So trying to pick which one it is is the true speculation at this point. Best to leave ambiguous. Just looked on the official BBC website, and noticed they mention "the return of Strax", and "lizards, Victorian assassins and deranged warriors from the future all return" which to me are good indicators that it is the same Strax and not a clone. Not really. Let's wait until Christmas to see more. OS25 (talk to me, baby.) 17:43, November 17, 2012 (UTC)
