Talk:Swarm (disambiguation)

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Should be switched back[[edit source]]

This article originally contained what is now at The Swarm (The Invisible Enemy). Then someone came up with the conjectural title The Swarm to indicate the aliens in Planet of the Dead. At this point, someone then said The Swarm should then be a disambig. But that didn't make any sense because we don't create disambigs for names that pertain two only two things. Unless there are three things with the same name, we just drop a link at the top of each of the two similarly-named articles.

But then, the POTD "Swarm" was renamed to Stingray, so it's not even close to "The Swarm" anymore. So now this "disambiguates" between "The Swarm" and "Stingrays". Which is really not the point of disambig pages. More to the point, a disambig page should never be created because of a conjectural name. It can mention conjectural names, if there are other reasons to disambig, but it can't be the sole reason for creating a disambig. There is only one thing in the Whoniverse definitively called "The Swarm". It is from The Invisible Enemy. Could an admin please move The Swarm (The Invisible Enemy) back to The Swarm. here's a (weak) third reference[[edit source]]

One could include the Hornets from AUDIO: Hornets' Nest. In the casting notes the role (voiced by Rula Lenska) has been named "The Swarm" and "The Queen". It's a bit of a stretch, but there's a third. (I promise I'll have the entry for Hornets done soon. Really!) Gousha talk to me 02:25, December 3, 2011 (UTC)
