Talk:The ArcHive Tapes (audio anthology)

Valid?[[edit source]]

If this is only the in-universe, and told as a narrative, then it seems to me that it should probably be valid like any other audio… right? It's a bit of an unorthodox story, sure, in that it lacks a main character and instead tells the story of a people — but it looks to be as much of a story as A Brief History of Time Lords.

Certainly, the lack of an {{invalid}} tag suggests it.

But… as I found when editing that page (which is actually what brought me here)… back on Cyberman (Mondas), stern notes warn that pages about concepts originating in Doctor Who: Cybermen are not to be created. So either whoever wrote those notes didn't know about The ArcHive Tapes, or there is some unseen consensus not to treat them as valid which the page fails to note. So… which is it?--Scrooge MacDuck 12:42, June 14, 2019 (UTC)

EDIT: From what I've heard of them, they're even more like Brief History than I thought, in that they're narrated by an in-universe character (the CyberLeader) and given a justification as in-universe history. --Scrooge MacDuck 12:50, June 14, 2019 (UTC)
First, lack of an invalid tag could mean that no one who knows the rules has seen the page. Lots of people create new pages without an understanding of our rules.
Second, inclusion debates belong in Board:Inclusion debates thanks Shambala108 13:37, June 14, 2019 (UTC)
Well, for now it was just a question, not an inclusion debate. The notes on Cyberman (Mondas) made me wonder if there was simply a preexisting decision I was unaware of.
If there is not, then I think I shall get the story and make a proper debate at some point in the future.
Thanks for a prompt reply, anyway. --Scrooge MacDuck 13:40, June 14, 2019 (UTC)
